FULLY BRIEFED

Terms of Service

Effective date: April 2026 | Last updated: September 13, 2026

About Fully Briefed

Fully Briefed is a Canadian trade intelligence newsletter published by Trevor Ryhorchuk. By subscribing to or reading Fully Briefed, you agree to these terms.

Scope, and how these terms relate to the Fully Briefed network terms

Fully Briefed is an intelligence media network. Canadian Trade Intelligence is one publication within it. These terms govern your subscription to, and reading of, Canadian Trade Intelligence. The network's own Terms of Service govern use of the fullybriefed.ca website, apply to you in addition to these terms, and are incorporated here by reference. Where the two conflict, these publication terms govern for Canadian Trade Intelligence subscribers. Neither document replaces the other.

Nature of Content

Fully Briefed provides educational content about Canadian trade policy, tariffs, customs procedures, procurement, and related topics. The content represents synthesis and financial translation of publicly available government data and policy documents.

Fully Briefed is produced with machine assistance: automated research draws on primary government sources and produces a first draft of each issue. Every figure, date and citation is checked against the source by Trevor Ryhorchuk, who edits the result and decides what is published. Editorial responsibility for what is published rests with him.

Fully Briefed is not professional advice. The newsletter is written from a CPA's perspective, but it does not constitute accounting advice, legal advice, customs brokerage services, tax advice, or professional consulting of any kind. The creator is a CPA, not a customs lawyer or licensed customs broker.

Content should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any business, compliance, or financial decision. For matters specific to your business, consult a licensed professional — a customs broker for classification and compliance questions, a trade lawyer for regulatory interpretation, and an accountant for tax implications.

Accuracy and Timeliness

We make every effort to ensure the information in Fully Briefed is accurate and current at the time of publication. Our sources include Statistics Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Finance Canada, CanadaBuys, and other official government sources. However, trade policy, tariff rates, and regulatory requirements change frequently.

We do not guarantee that any information remains accurate after the date of publication. Tariff rates, program eligibility criteria, and regulatory deadlines cited in the newsletter should always be verified against current official sources before being acted upon.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fully Briefed and its creator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of or reliance on the newsletter content. This includes, without limitation, damages related to incorrect tariff classification, missed compliance deadlines, procurement decisions, duty calculations, or any other business decisions influenced by the newsletter.

You acknowledge that trade policy decisions involve inherent uncertainty and that the newsletter's analysis represents one interpretation of publicly available information.

Intellectual Property

All content published by Fully Briefed — including newsletter text, analysis, financial illustrations, and original research — is the intellectual property of Trevor Ryhorchuk and is protected by Canadian copyright law.

Subscribers may share individual newsletter issues with colleagues for their personal business use. Subscribers may not republish, redistribute, or resell Fully Briefed content in any format without written permission. Brief quotations for the purpose of commentary or review are permitted with attribution.

Subscriber Conduct

By subscribing, you agree not to use Fully Briefed content to create a competing newsletter or publication, systematically redistribute content to non-subscribers, or misrepresent Fully Briefed content as your own analysis.

Paid Subscriptions

If and when paid subscription tiers are offered, the following terms apply. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in Canadian dollars. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Communications

Fully Briefed complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We send commercial electronic messages only to subscribers who have provided express consent through our double opt-in process. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.

For details on how we handle your personal information, see our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Fully Briefed shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers via email. Continued use of Fully Briefed after changes are communicated constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
